Mission

Develop a new VOD brand dedicated to showcasing fine cinema, curating a selection of critically acclaimed films, and providing an exceptional viewing experience for discerning movie enthusiasts. The platform will emphasize a user-friendly interface, high-quality streaming, and thoughtfully designed content discovery features to elevate the appreciation and enjoyment of cinema as an art form.

Problem

Develop a user-friendly and enjoyable platform that surpasses the simplicity of torrent lists and caters to the tastes of movie enthusiasts by aligning with their favorite directors' preferences, ultimately creating a seamless and engaging experience for discovering and appreciating fine cinema.

 

Steps

  1. Frame the problem: Identify the core issues to be addressed, such as showcasing the directors' vision of cinema and promoting ambitious films while creating a memorable brand identity.

  2. Facilitate design sprints: Facilitate collaborative sessions with renowned directors like Cedric Klapisch, Pascale Ferran, and other members of the French Directors Society to brainstorm ideas and solutions.

  3. Prototype: Create low-fidelity mockups or functional prototypes to represent proposed solutions, incorporating the feedback and ideas generated during the design sprints.

  4. Design and test: Refine the design based on feedback from stakeholders and conduct usability tests to ensure the solution meets user needs and expectations.

  5. Develop: Implement the final design, creating a distinctive brand identity that encapsulates the essence of the shared vision between the directors and the platform. 

Result

The result of the project was a unique and successful Video On Demand platform, featuring a curated selection of favorite films from renowned directors worldwide. This distinctive proposition attracted a large community of discerning film enthusiasts and established the platform as a new reference for independent cinema. The platform also fostered multiple partnerships with cultural media outlets, further enhancing its reputation and reach within the film community.
